Question

ICON306,

What is the exact location of the 76-Station that sells the 100-Octane gas?

Thanks!

At about 95% of the gas stations here the gas does not get over 91. 104 is available at the track at 4.95 a gallon.

I also have a local gas station that sells Sunoco 100 unleaded. I was able to track some more stations down with this website www.racefuels.com

Very cool. It is 100+ octane and you were right FORDSALES, the cost in San Marino is $4.00/gal. I really have the urge to blow some cash on this stuff though...

As soon as I get my Superchip re-burn back, I'm going to give it a shot.

Cool

I can buy 115 leaded fuel here in Ohio for 2.99 all day long. It's illegal to run on the street. I use it for my quad all the time, and I go buy it 25 gallons at a time. Now if one or 2 of those 5 gallon gas cans ends up in the L.. who's to know?

Will lead hurt the engine? I have been told no many times by different people, it's just an enviroment thing.

Injection is nice, but I'd rather be blown. 99 Lightning, the best of both worlds!

FORDSALES, Union 76 has been selling the 100 octane fuel for several years at the pump in California. You can purchase some at the Unocal at the corner of Garfield and Beach about a qurter of mile from your old stomping ground. Last time I checked it was $4.00 per gallon. Have fun! I don't think it will do the L much good. After reading another post it seems the Ford chip does not advance the timing to take advantage of higher octane fuel. Supposedly the Inject Tech chip does.

What I have read is that a gallon or 2 of Leaded will clog your catalysts and foul the o2 sensors

Post 100 octane race fuel

On my way home from work yesterday I stopped at a 76 station for gas, and to my surprise they had a pump for 100 octane "race" fuel. Has anybody out here in CA (or anywhere else for that matter) used this stuff? All I hear about is the 104 octane stuff everywhere else, but hey its California....

I was told by one of the drivers for Mobil that the highest in Calif. was 92 octane period and that we couldn't get anything higher.

Talking

Doug... the 100 octane gas Union 76 is UNLEADED.

Running LEADED racing fuel destorys cat's and o2 sensors.

Also, in the North bay (Northern CA)... 100 octane unleaded is available in Navato at Sears point raceway.
