hey bro, i really wanted a blue one. They gave us a awsome deal, paid 6600 for a new 2000. The place we are buying at is as licensed dealer. We have to pay both taxs. We get there tax totaling 15% when we cross the border and just have to pay the 6%. Only thing we need is a new US speedo, since theres is in Km's.

Should've gone with the R1, but I can't argue since I don't even have one.

Watch out for cars cause they aren't looking for you!

Now I'm surprised at you guys, My Black VMAX with an extra 20 horses is just like my Lightning. I've had all the baddest race rides and loved the hell out of them (even when I ended up surfing one at Willow Springs in turn three). But when it comes to sheer power and torque, Mr. Max goes hand in hand with Mr. L. (such manly creatures as these would of course never be holding hands, but you get the picture). You never dream of hanging off the side of Max in the twisties, but then I wouldn't think about doing that in the L either (well, let's hope not anyway) The point is, I think I bacame a Lightning owner because of how it reminds me of my bike: Huge torque, big and bad and sort of pissed off, not raising so much of an eyebrow at the little "sports cars" all around it, revving their motors and snickering at the big black thing in pole position waiting for green. It's that loud roar, the rip of the tires at the pavement and the absolute shock and dismay of all those around you as you disappear beyond the wall of vaporous rubber, never to be seen again.
Believe me, I'm not a this basher or a that basher, I love them all. But slap on a Max that's got a list of mods HALF as long as most of you on your Bolts and hang on for dear life. Just make sure you slow down for that corner....Oh, and I love your Yamaha, it must be mighty sweet.

I should have it monday, i will let you know how i like it. I have only had one bike before this, and did not ride it much. That is why i went with the R6 instead of the R1(1000). Did not want to kill myself right away =).

Thumbs up

Congrats on the new ride! I was going to wait for a R6 when they first were released, but was sold on a 99 Honda CBR 600 F3 at the time.

Anyway, good luck with your new dillemma: which one should I drive/ride today???

That's the problem I ran into, and ended up selling the F3 back to the local dealer. I'd like to get another motorcycle, but with the recent changes in my life, I can't afford both the Lightning and a new bike.

Anyway, enjoy the speed rush! I know I did!
