Post Shims for 4.10??

Hey guys, need a little help. I got my US Gears 4.10s in with a pinion nut and crush sleeve. Where can I get the shims and what ever else I may need. I saw in another post that there was an "installation kit" but didnt mention where he bought it from. I am trying to avoid putting the truck into the shop and then finding out I need another part. Thanks for your help, Jeff

Don't know about U.S. Gears, but no shim kits made for Precision Gear 4.10s. My installer had to fabricate them. Also, make sure you have the CORRECT pinion nut for your gear set. I ruined a P.G. pinion because the installer used a nut for the F.M.O.S. pinion. I am sure you are also aware that you have to get a chip calibrated for the 4.10s because the OEM module cannot be calibrated for that ratio. Given these caveats, I think that the 4.10s are the best mod you can do to your truck besides a chip and filter. I think you will be delighted with the results.

Thanks for the bad news guys. Normally I would'nt be too worried about fabricating the shims but I just moved to Charlottesville and I do not know anybody up here yet that I can trust. How hard was it to fabricate these? I can't believe that US Gear would not have a set for their own gears. I will try to call them today. If nothing else, if enough people complain, maybe they will start making them. Hopefully someone else may have got some and can reply. Appreciate your help, Jeff

Can't you just buy various shims from Ford it's hit and mis but they will fit.
I'm getting ready to have 4.11 installed first week of September. Here is a list of what I came up with so far.

Differential Bolts 12
Differential side bearings 2
Differential side bearing races 2
Rear Pinion bearing 1
Rear Pinion bearing race 1
Front Pinion bearing 1
Front Pinion bearing race 1
Pinion seal 1
Pinion nut 1
Crush sleeve 1
Various shems sizes
Wooooo!!!!!! if you guys can add anything pile it on.

I wish I had your bank account

The only bearing you might need is the rear pinion (large) bearing, no race's. It's a good thing to use new bolt's for the ring gear. A new pinion seal, crush sleeve(better to have 2 just in case)also 2 new pinion nuts. A set of shim's for the pinion, and Luck from the Gear God's

I don't think you can have that many mile's on your L, to buy all new bearings and race's

Of course this is only my .02

It's not a L but it is a "L" wanabe. I only have 25,000 miles but I am very paranoid about the rear end and want everything to be perfect. Don't want that annoying wiiiine sound and then my pinion get chewed up are something. Thanks for you input I still would fill safer changing the parts listed.
Last question why do I need two pinion nuts.
