Any chance of an extended cab version, heh?
I raced a new Lightning at a drag strip in my '88 GT Mustang ragtop. I'm trying to figure out how to get it off the line, so the guy in the Lightning got a good jump on me. I thought I'd beat him pretty good, but I just barely got him. He ran a 13.5@102, with a K&N filter and a "chip", probably a Superchip. My car is capable of mid 12s, if I become capable, heh. (I ran a 13.4 against him, but later in the day improved to a 13.098@111).
Anyway, I'd buy one in a heartbeat if it had an extended cab.

Topsy:
What do you have in your GT? It is obviously far from stock, because I eat 88 GT's for breakfast - especially heavy convertibles.

I sure hope not. I wouldn't buy one, anyway. As far as I am concerned what makes the L. so great is not just its straight line performance but the way it can hang with fast vehicles in the corners. Extend the wheelbase and you are going to seriously compromise this capability. You may have noticed that some of our members auto-cross their Ls. I'd like to see you do that with an extended cab. In fact, that's something I will have to look into, it sounds like tons of fun. Anyone auto-cross their L in So. Cal?

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.
'84 Alan Record Carbonio, Aerospoke wheels, Campy brakes.
'00 SVT Lightning, silver, G-tech Pro, JBA headers, cam bolts, 4.10 gears
(soon, Swanson's chip and MAF, Cal-tracs)
2001 Kevlacat 2400, twin 115 Evinrude FICHT, Raytheon VHF, Radar, and Sounder/DGPS chartplotter

My '88 Mustang is nearly stock with just headers and mufflers, LOL. Just kidding, I've got a bunch of bolt ons, including a Vortech. It recently dynoed at 426 RWHP, but is way down from that at the moment, and when I raced a couple of weeks ago. Since that dyno run, I put cats on it, and had to change to a really fat chip (long story).
Oh well guys, maybe I'll just have to build my own extended cab lightning!

Check with Full Effect in California. Here's their address, http://www.fulleffect.com they did extended cab versions of the L1, not to mention custom colors and engine mods. From what I remember reading, they were charging about $5,000 for the conversion.
