I have a stock 00 L and like to know if there is anything I can do to make it faster without voiding out the warranty. I ran a 14.395 2 weeks ago and this last fri. night I put the tailgate down and 100 octane and ran 14.352

Welcome to the board. One thing you will always be able to find on this board is hop up parts. Almost everyone on this board goes with chip, filter combos. These will not void your warranty. Hope this helps.

A chip and intake is your best bet initially. Exhaust is basically a sound improvement from all the posts I've read. Although there is certainly nothing wrong with scaring the hell out of people at WOT.

Hey, Borack, I suspect your L is new & low mileage. Keep flogin it until you get about 7k miles. It will get faster. Pro-M 80 MAF with filter won't void your warranty and by itself (MAF & Filter) is probably good for 15-20 hp. MOBIL 1 helps. The new throttle body currently being tested may also be worth adding. Watter weter in the intercooler & radiator, fans for the intercooler radiator and bypass swithch for intercooler pump. Chips can void your PCM warranty, but not anything else. Several have had to pay for PCM s and reflashing because they added chips. MT ET STREETS are good for traction.

thanks guys. Noelvm what is a "Pro-M 80 MAF" and PCM warranty? Sorry I am new. Yes my L only has 3200 mi on it. I do have a K&N filter but thats all.

 

technically, 4.10s dont make you any faster. They make you quicker. There is a difference

 

I would agree with you, Nathan although some here have claimed that the 4.10's allow you to reach a higher top speed because the shorter gearing allows you to "get on top of the powerband" better in overdrive. I plan on putting them in over the winter. I guess I'll see for myself if this is true.

 

A Pro-M MAF is the Mass Air device that reads air flow. Here is an SHM unit installed:





The PCM is the computer under the dash that performance chips plug into. Some have been torched by improper chip installs etc.

I'm now truely convinced of just how fast the Lightnings are.

LOL....it surprised me the way he slipped in there! The double post was caused by my impatience with this slow server. I'd also like to clarify the fact that I'm not disputing or discrediting anyone who posted about the top speed thing.
