Post K&N recharger kit for PSP

Hey guys I went out and bought a K&N filter recharger (cleaner) kit, and the instructions say to clean about every 50K miles - is this what is recommended for the PSP filter as well? I thought I remembered reading somewhere that it should be cleaned every 12K miles? Any help would be appreciated.

50K for the PSP filter is correct, unless you drive in extremely dusty conditions regularly.
