Post Bassani exhaust

I'm interested in the full kit, but nervous about how loud it will make my truck. I do not want a loud & bellowing exhaust, or one that drones at highway speed. Does it make a huge difference (noise-wise) from stock??

HUGE DIFFERENCE. Very cool at idle. Otherwise, LOUD.

YA AND if you are looking for increase ETs you are looking in the wrong place. It has definatly been proven that exhaust is pure sound on these trucks and it is a waste of money unless you plan on pumping out better that 425 at the wheels. It takes that much before you are going to be helped by the exhaust. If you want to shell out 1500 for sound go right ahead!

My experience is the same and I agree with LQ that you seem to get no noticeable power increase.

And, it is LOUD, starting from 1500 right on up. Cruising on the highway can be a pain in the ears if you have very many grades (hills or whatever) as it becomes very intrusive when you have to stay on the throttle. On neutral cruise on the flats, it's pretty much OK.

A lot of money for a lot of noise, but hey, it's on there now and I ain't takin' it off!

Bill

Question

I have a question for you guys that have the full Bassani exhaust systems. Did you replace your stock manifolds with the Bassani headers?

Thanks,

69bossnine,

Curious..... what do you mean "custom program" for the Pro-M 80MM MAF? Mike Troyer said that was not necessary.

OK Mike what's up??

Thumbs down

If you want noise, buy Bassani. If your looking for performance go with Flowmaster. I love my Bassani, but I would never waste the money on it again.. IMO

69BOSSNINE:

My neighbors have started a petition. Bill is not allowed to leave the driveway before 7:00 AM

Since the Lawn Mower Weenies cannot start before 8:00, I guess I cannot complain.

As well, it lets me sleep in for an extra hour or so.

Cool, 'cause I want my 'bolt to honk like bull-gator, I want everybody in my neighborhood to hear "GGGGRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWW" when I take off............ NOT!!!!! Thanks for the clue-in, I'll avoid that investment like the plague. Got the call today, my custom-programmed superchip is finally being shipped (custom programmed for the 80mm Pro M). I need to get this truck to the track!

Hey 69

Just installed the Borla Catback and i am really pleased with the sound. It is a real mello sounding exaust and at WOT you can hear yourself think. Not much for more preformance but does sound better than stock. Easy to install too.

About the chip that was done to accomodate my Pro-M, I dunno, I just got what they (Powered by Ford) told me I needed, and they got together with Superchips and calibrated a special program to go with the bigger mass-air. Whether it works any better or any worse than the standard Superchips fare I won't know until I get up to G'ville raceway and take some passes. I think that the x-tra 500 rpms at the shift-points is where the real gain is made, irregardless.
