Post MM&FF's lightning ran 13.30's bone stock

My wife and I love our 99 cobra so we bought a lightning to match (bought yesterday both red).I got the new MM&FF about a week ago,I could not believe the numbers 13.37@102 1.9short time stock. The truck is impressive and it rides alot like my cobra the power is smooth. Also in the artical they have pics of it going through the traps(in near perfect race weather)but still 13.37, anybody else see this artical?

Congrats on your purchase! You'll find there are a number of us with multiple Ford performance vehicles.

I have taken MMFF since its inception way back in 1990. There are some things you need to take into consideration...they actually alluded to these things in the article, but its easily skimmed over and missed.

1) Whenever these guys test, they get the track prepped as good as they want. On this particular day, they were the only ones racing! Track to themselves, they could cool the truck as long as they want, and even spray ice water on the intercooler in the staging lanes! Try that at your local track and you'll get booted!

They are also allowed to spray down VHT at their hearts content. Again, in the real world, where can you do this?

2) They readily admit that the air conditions were outstanding. I'll never see 40^, baro. pressure of 30.5-31.0", and low humidity. Not here in N. TX. So, this should be taken into account.

3) Evan Smith is one of the best drivers out there. Granted, this is an auto trans vehicle, so there are less variables involved than with a stick car, but still...Evan is incredible.

I'd guess that truck would run 13.7+ here in N. TX on a 90^F day.
