Cooling Mod for Lightnings?

Does anyone have or make a cooling mod for the L's like the ones for 03-04 cobras? It connects the rear of the heads together for better overall coolant flow and mainly to keep the drivers side rear cylinders cooler.

It's not needed, the 2v motors don't have that problem.

If it were done would it help though? Do you see any disadvantages to it?

HI!... Actually the 2-valves do suffer from this problem. The coolant going into the D/S head has to fight against the hot coolant trying to get back out. The FORD intake gasket has the "O" ring there for it. Ford just blocked off the intake manifold casting. I drilled mine out and had a aluminum tube welded on and ran the coolant hose over to my heater hoses and "Y'ed" it back in. I noticed at the track that I could hot lap the truck many more times before the truck started to get hot. Easy cheap mod.

Here you can see where FORDs blocks off the coolant passage on the N/A 5.4L intake manifold :

This is the tube I had welded on :

I did just like Neal did, but on an L manifold:

Did change to a Y style fitting since installation.

Didn't Rich (wydopnthrtl) who helped design the cooling system on the Lightning state that tying both sides together will equal out pressure but not promote flow of coolant....

I'm sure he'll comment when he returns from vacation.
