It must be fun having an R/T that runs in the 13's. I would love to drive something like that for the joy of watching surprised looks on faces as you blow by things like Mustang GT's. People are getting accustomed to the L, and many know what it can do, but a sleeper truck has to be loads of fun to drive. I wish I was in the geograpical area, it sounds like a blast with a great bunch of guys.

Thumbs up

R/T SC

There will be a small group of HALO Lightnings at Hallsville Raceway just west of Marshall, Texas on September 16th. Invited some of the Dallas/Ft Worth area L's to come but no responce. Don't know how close that would be but?

? for the R/T people. I was going down I90 near Chicago and ran into a red Dakota w/ 2 white r. stripes. The only Tags it had was the V8 emblem(no 'sport' or 'R/T'). It had 2 stickers on the tail gate. left side had a picture of a truck going real fast and said 'race tract', right side said 'Roy Olsen'. I pulled up om his right side and paced him to see if he wanted to play. It was night time and maybe he didn't see my L. badge, but he didn't want to play. Any body heard of a Roy Olsen truck, or tract? What's the story?

Sounds good. I'll be there this friday, 25th, if you guys can make it. I'm sure there will be several others.
Are you going to make it to Norwalk in Sept. for the trucks only weekend? (Sept. 9-10)

Cool Friendly L vs. R/T drags

I would like to organize a friendly competition at Milan Dragway sometime around the end of September/early October.

I am a proud owner of a 2000 Dak R/T and run in the 13's. I have several local R/T friends that also run "about that quick" too.

I think that it would be fun to get together and battle it out on the track. We have a good group of guys, mostly in their 30's that are all about going quick and having fun, no matter what brand you're driving.

BTW, SilverBullet (L owner on this list) has met me and a couple others of us R/Ters. He can vouch for my sincerity in having a pleasant gettogether for us all.

Let me know who's up for the challenge :~)

Let's see, I'll try to answer all the previous posts in this one.....

Moonshine: Love to meet ya in TX, but we're up here in MI :~(

'00BlackLightning: Musta been someone else. I never been to Atlanta, would like to though :~)

skydive69: Cool name:~) Yup, it is a sleeper truck. It is hard to get people to street race though. Most dont want to waste their time on a "truck"...even though I'll probably whoop em :~)

1BadTK: We have a bunch of R/Ts in the Dallas areas. Unfortunately I'm up in MI. If you'd like, I could petitition those guys to join you down there. Let me know...

SilverBullet: I dont care for Milan either. Some of the guys that work there are real redneck asses. But, like you said, its the closest. I miss Detroit Dragway :~(

BlkSVTTruck: I have no idea...probably just some custom wannabe.

PFA: Cant make it for some time yet. Been doing alot of things "R/T related" and the wife's feathers are getting ruffled :~(

High Risk: WOW! You're gonna open up a can of whoop-*** on all of us R/Ts but you're more than welcome to join in on the "slower" fun :~) PS-You wont need that bottle either:~)
PPS-How do you like Watson's work?

an some guy just said, it must be nice to have an r/t that runs 13.7s to beat gt's, R/ts beat gt's stock without running a 13.7

So, what you're saying is that a stock R/T runs 14.0s. That's what a '99-00 Mustang GT driven correctly will run at most tracks.

Hmmm...

I'm in the DFW area.
Win, lose, or draw, I like to race!
Since I see some other Dakota R/T's responding, I thought I'd throw in with them.
