JDM Exhaust

What are the goods/bads about the JDM exhaust for the L. I am thinking of getting one and was wondering if they sound good or are to loud or raspy sounding. Just anything in general goods and bads from those who have it. Thanks

I have it in my truck it sounds great!! However if you do long trips!! It does start to be to drown!! I have the setup with the two small mufflers. You should call them and ask it the one large muffler might be better only if you want it for long trips!! I will say nothing sounds like it. Making 331 ci. in. sound like a big block is quite an amazing thing!! The fit and quality was also great!!! Artie

I have had their full exhaust on my truck now for almost 4 years, with no problems at all! I have the twin magnaflows that are not shaped like glasspacks. I am not sure what JDM calls them. The mufflers are pretty quite until you put your foot in it then it sounds really good!!! Not really any drone at highway speeds either! Jim

The only downside to the JDM exhaust, is that it is a little pricy

Other than that it is just awesome.

Perfect fit, sounds awesome, and looks great

Agreed with the rest. It is simply the best sounding exhaust for a 5.4 I have ever heard, and one of the best over all exhaust sounds I have heard. (It is hard to make a low compression 5.4 sound good). I absolutely love mine, and when my truck was a daily driver I considered going from the bullets to the ovals, but didn't have the heart to change it cause it sounded so sweet. Now that my truck is a weekend warrior, I wouldn't change it for the world!

Well I don't really go on long trips but the truck is my daily driver. To and from work and that's about it and around town on the weekends. I may end up going with it. Haven't really made up my mind yet. Thanks guys

What are they using for the silver bullet exhaust? Are they twin 4" round Magnaflow mufflers? What length are they?

My system sounds good and looks good after 10 hours of cutting, welding, and swedging due to fitment problems. The swedges on the pipes were 1/2 inch to big so we had to cut them off and re-swedge them. Then after we finally got them to fit the pipes were too long. They would have come out 10 inches past the cut out in the side skirt. My buddy just got the system from JLP and he said it fits alot better. They are both around the same price and sound about the same also. The JLP system is nice becuase it does not come with the crap paper gasket and 10mm bolts. You better invest in a 10mm ratchet wrench or do like I did and change to allens. They get very loose through the first couple heat cycles. You dont want to blow a gasket.

I believe they did have a run of bad fitting pipes, but that has been addressed. I have helped people do complete installs in several hours and come out perfect. Mine fits perfect, but they installed mine so I don't know if it went on right the first time or if they had to adjust it.

I bought my full JDM exhaust this past summer and did the install myself. Basic hand tools are all you need. The hardest part is getting the old exhaust off. It all was done with truck on the ground. Drivers side header goes in from the bottom, and the pass side goes in from the wheel well so you have to remove the tire on that side. A little bit of a bitch on the pass. side cuz you have to wiggle the collector flange past the starter but it fits. After that its cake gettin everything together. The sound is great , the install was easy, and i would recommend this system.

High quality system, the sound depends on what mufflers you go with, it always sounds louder when you first put it on, then you get used to it and want more. heres a clip from JDM day with full exhaust, no cats. get a good idea on how it sounds at WOT throttle.
