Thanks Rick,
Someone posted yesterday that the other prices were about the same as Summit. I didn't like the prices either so I have gone to another supplier for prices. I don't work for a speed shop either. I'm doing this in my spare time.
Thanks again

noelvm - I know you're doing this as a favor for the board members. After I posted that comment I thought it sounded bad, but I wanted to make sure that it was clear that I don't represent any parts reseller. Keep up the good work and sorry if I made it sound like you were doing something other than helping the board.

Believe me I will let the guy know how I feel about being quoted prices higher than Summit for a group buy and I took the trouble to go by their shop, Martel Brothers in Katy.

Noel
You might want to check out the prices at www.carparts.com If you use one of the many discount codes they have in various mags, the price may be pretty cheap.

Just a suggestion...

PFA,

I was thinking the same thing about http://www.carparts.com/gift

Here are their prices, and some coupon codes:

5703 - $46.97
5721 - $45.07 About $8 more than summit before coupon! About $7 less after.
5737 - $39.97
5791 - $34.97

Total: 166.98

Coupons:
$50 off $100 or more Expires
CODE: 2106008 (New Cust only) 8/24/00
CODE: 2112008 8/31/00
CODE: 2212009 8/31/00
CODE: 2229009 8/31/00
CODE: 2165008 9/5/00

33% off up to $300 Expires
CODE: 1836008 8/31/00
CODE: 1871008 (New Cust only) 8/31/00

If you used the 33% off coupon, you'd save $55.10 and the total would only be $111.88 + $19.18 shipping (to TX) for a total of $131.06. They use UPS and shipping is based on weight, so may be slightly different.

Please note that I have no affiliation with www.carparts.com
Just trying to help the group, just like noel

Have fun!

Carparts.com doesn't own a single part. They are nothing but a web site. What are you going to do when they backorder half your order. No thanks. I'm in the process of getting prices from two other sources. You might be interest to know that Summit buys large stocks of going out of business parts that have frequent and rough handling. While they will accept return you have to pay the return postage and I know of serveral in the car repair business that have tried to buy from Summit and gotton non working parts, especially carbs.

I just received a catalog for AutoMeter gauges and they have one called "Ultra-Lite" that looks good. Have any info. about this gauge?

i just found a picture of the Ultra-Lites"

Ultra-Lite gauges are the hottest instruments in motorsports. Aluminum construction greatly reduces weight while anodized aluminum dials and bright red fluorescent pointers make them easy to read. These Ultra-Lite electrical gauges include a rugged air core meter movement, and the full pointer appearance matches the mechanical gauges.
Ultra-Lite gauges have an anodized aluminum face with black digits.

Damn

I should have read your notes more clearly, Noel. I was reading this post again and saw that you already did post the Ultra-Lites.

Not only is my memory going but now my eyes. What's next?
