I plan on going. Hope I can get set of new F-1s and my replacement drag rims back by then or else it will be a waste of time. The intercooler needs replacing also, might wait till after the trip for that though.
If this track is that good, would it be worth while for me to strip my truck down like the guys up north do. Passanger seat, rear bumper, drop hitch, spare tire, sway bars, and tail gate. I think thats about it. This knocks off a couple of hundred pounds or so, and could give us some killer E.T.s. It sure sound like alot of work though. Is anyone else thinking of doing this? I hate to sound like a little kid but if someone else does it, I'll do it too. Anyone??

The track is very good. The problem is that it will still be VERY hot, I'm afraid. I think it would be pretty hard to set a personal best time when the temps will probably be in the low-90s at best.

As you are well aware, today was 106^F up here.

Check that...it was 110^F up here today. Longview/Hallsville was probably a little bit cooler. If it happens to be this hot on the 16th, then I'll be staying home. Sorry, but I will race some other time instead of beating mercilessly on my vehicles in that kind of heat...not to mention what the heat index will be like in humid E. Texas. :P

Albert -

Hallsville is about three hours from Denton so about 11AM from Denton would be good. I am going to be in Houston all next week, but will be back in the DFW area by Friday. A rally point in Lewisville on I-35 might be a good idea. Doug, what do you think?

Looks like cooler weather is headed our way, so the 100 degree temp. will be gone. We have made reservations at the Economy Inn in Marshall Texas for Saturday Night, going to visit with some friends there on Sunday. I think the track opens at 3:00, so we will be leaving the motel at 2:00 PM. Looks like about 6 members of HALO will be there. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

I must have missed this the first go round, but if the weather looks decent I'm game to give it a run. If we're putting together a caravn from D/FW I'd hook up somewhere on I20.

Brian -

Maybe we can meet over in Dallas somewhere on Saturday morning. Maybe Cracker Barrel for breakfast. I think Albert and I are going to hook up in Denton earlier and then we can meet you.

Wes

Looks like this might just turn out to be a great day at "Hallsville". Many new faces and names put to those awesome board handles. We might have to do this once a year. I might even consider heading in other dirrections to meet with other Lightning owners. Hope you can still make it...

Andre,

I'm still planning on going! Finally all of us have gotten a bit of relief from the heat. I'm driving over Saturday. It's about 2+hrs for me, but that's not bad.

C ya at the track.
