Question Fuel Octane Boosters

Hey guys I went to a local speed shop the other day to try some High Octane Hitrate racing gasoline concentrate additive. They told me to mix one gallon of Klotz Hitrate octane additive to nine gallons of 93 octane which would boost my octane level to around 106 unleaded. Has anybody gotten good results by using a quailty additive booster concentrate? Can this help detonating problems from using a race programmed chip?

HIGH ROLLER,

I talked to Sal about this because I just got his 4 way chip. He advised using NOS Racing Formula octane booster for the race program in his chip (100-106 octane). Tried it last night and made 3 runs in the race program for street tires. No pinging, but could not get Big Red to even think about hooking up off the line in the race mode with street tires. Turned the chip to street performance, feathered the throttle at launch and turned a 13.516 sec. quarter mile. Before the best I had was a 14.536.
So with a second decrease with Sal's chip on my truck, I have confidence he knows the NOS Racing Formula will do the trick. Need to get some drag radials to really see what the race mode can produce with the octane booster, but that is for another day.

PEP Boys carries the NOS Racing formula octane booster. Does not harm the O2 sensors or cats.

Hey Guys,
Been away for a few days (working). I was originally the one to experiment with the NOS Octance booster w/Nitro Methane, and must say, do not use this more that 3 tanks worth of fuel in a row. Continous use WILL damage the catalaic convertors, they will run too HOT and fall apart, trust me....It happened to me, just ask Johnny L.
Otherwise I love it, cant say enough good things about it,I even convinced Sal to use, and now he swears by it.Most thought I was crazy for using this last year, but it works for me

autozone carries 2 kinds of NOS octane boost.
street & off-road. street adds up to 3 points (costs $6), and offroad adds up to 5 or 7 points ($9). cant remember...
i've been using the offroad formula. (when i know i'm gonna be needing it, at the track)

both cans say the same thing on the label, only difference is the boost rating.

what do you guys know about this stuff?
