Had a bad feeling the other day and...
Sure enough. The intercooler is leaking. I checked it last week and the fluid was between the two plastic lines; now it is even with the bottom one. I guess I'll keep an eye on it so it doesn't run dry and join in the fight. Calling dealership Monday.
DUCK
BTW - I just turned 12,000 miles last weekend.

Checking at different operating temps might affect the ffluid level?
Don't forget that we have been having some hot weather lately. Could evaporation be causing the reduction in the system?
Just a thought.
Mine was in between the lines when I got it. I've added some once at about 6 months... middle of summer. Looks like I need some more... Maybe 1/4 of a quart...
Could I be in denial? HARUMPHHHH!!!!

I kept a really close eye on my level. The level has never dropped at all since I've had it. It was fine 2 Fridays ago, but when I checked it at the track last Friday it had dropped about 1/2". My dealership has the IC, but no bolts. They seem confident that they can have the bolts by Wednesday and that I'll be fixed up and ready to go the following week, but I remember reading something about those being the most recent shortage from Ford. I guess we'll see.

Sorry to hear.
FYI, It's been 17 months , 12000 miles, and (knocking on wood) my water level is still at the top and none has been added. I live in a temperate climate (typically more than 100 days a year over 100 degF) and have lost none due to evaporation. And it's a DRY heat .

From what I can tell it will be the same IC. It will leak again in 12K miles (24K total on engine). By then, there should be a permenant fix that works (rumor has it that there is already work on a 2001 IC retrofit kit). When that comes around (save any prior problems) I'll get the full meal deal with O2 sensor, plugs, etc at Ford's expense. For now, I'll just pray that my engine isn't "jacked" because of the lost fluid.
DUCK
BTW - Have we figured out where the leaking fluid is going?
