Thumbs up Kudos for Extang...

Recently purchased an Extang BlackMax tonneau cover for my '00 L. Installation was a snap and the fit and finish was excellence. However, I noticed the kit didn't come with "Lever Lock" corners for the rail so I sent Extang an e-mail to confirm this. The e-mail was sent on Monday (10/23), and I just found the correct set of "Lever Lock" corners in my mailbox today (10/27). No questions asked, no ifs, no buts... Now that's customer service!

Hey dude...going incognito here, huh?

As you know I'm very happy with my Extang tonneau as well, but I didn't get the lever lock rear rail on mine. Oh well...probably a little late to complain since its been a year.

How's the truck running with the "goodies"?

Been busy all week so the JL filter and chip are still sitting in the box. I'm going to repaint the JL filter adapter this weekend before stuffing them in the Lightning. Hopefully the rain will stay away long enough this weekend so I can so a proper evaluation.

I agree the Extang Black Max is excellent. Before that I bought the Tekstyle cover and was disappointed. I've had the Black Max for a year now, most of that time I rolled up the cover and unsnapped the bows twice a week. Takes less than five minutes. Still in excellent condition.

My only concern is I can't remember how black the cover was but now it looks like more of a grey compared to the truck. I am planning to get an Innovation hard tonneau soon (after I get an SUV to take the dogs around with).

I've had my Black Max Extang cover for about a year now, and its almost always on (not rolled up). Looks brand new. Hasn't lost any color/faded at all.

Same good report on my '94 L I had at one time. That truck sat outside 24/7/365 and the cover looked excellent the day I sold it.

JL didn't let the paint dry completely before wrapping up my filter kit with newspaper for shipping. OTOH, I *did* receive the filter kit ahead of the original ETA... Thanks JL.

The paint was too thin for me to remove the newspaper without lifting the paint, so I decided to strip all the paint off and start from scratch... Humm, may be I should spray on some flames while I'm at it...
