Post CAL-TRAC ?'s

HI!... Hey guys I was planning on purchasing a set of CAL-TRACS and was wondering how you LIGHTNING guys like them? Did you notice an improvement in your 60 ft times? Did they affect your cornering ability at all? (worstin it) Do the CAL-TRACS help wheel-hop? Sorry for all the questions guys, I'm just trying to find out if it is worth spending $480.00(CAN) for them. I want to try to drop my 60 ft times down to 1.8-1.9. I am currenty doing 2.0 60 ft's with my stock 275-60-R17's with 22psi.

I think the traction bars will work best when you can launch hard, like with slicks.

If you're interested in Cal-tracs you better hurry. They've got a group purchase going on now for $269 U.S. I've heard good things--tuneable and handling improvement with a small ride (harshness) sacrifice. Your launches will dramatically improve (.2 to .3 tenths) www.calvertracing.com

Who has the group purchase going right now? When does it end and how do you get in on it?

We have been useing the traction bars for a long time. The Bars 'pre-loaded' will affect the ride a bit and handleing. Then they are not pre-loaded it will ride and handle like it did befor. The only down side is that you will have a squeek from the bushing. With slicks, the traction bars, and a 75 shot off the line we pulled a 1.75 60' Along with the traction bars i would also recomind some Compition Performance adjustible drag shocks.

Question

Just curious, what do Cal-tracs do besides preventing axle wind-up and wheel hop?

alphadoggy,

Cal-tracs also help keep the weight transfer in the back. Also if you do get wheelspin they help to keep you from going sideways.

I have a set of Cal-Tracs that I never put
on my '99L. I unfortunatly had to sell the L,
so I have the Cal-Tracs for sale if you would
like them. Leave a post here or e-mail me.

Dave
