remove your cover, drain the fluid, flush it out, replace cover and refill with liquid from FORD DEALERSHIP.

that solves 79% of the problems.

Yea mine got to acting strange this past winter. I had to get it out , due to the other cars dead battery, in the snow and got stuck numerous times and noticed that in the snow and ice one tire would spin most of the time. Got it back out in the dry and laid down nothing but posi since. Figure that one out. I've got to get mine changed.

Here is a dumb question for you all. I was about to change mine and didn't notice where the fill plug was... Where do I add the fluid?

Opposite side of the cover plate...near your u-joint on the passenger side. There is a little plug about half way up

Pull the back cover to drain it. Just use some hi temp RTV to reseale it.

I say this because you need to wipe out all the junk that settles in the bottom from the clutch pack.

There is no filter in there and that material has no place to go. I have had several friends have there rear wheel bearings go bad and the general thought was that it was from not changing the lube. (not lightnings) They had 4X4's.

I'm not suggesting it be done real often. But if your **** I would guess every 20k miles if you play hard and city driving.

I'm sure other opinions will differ.
