Rejected 2nd Cervini Hood yesterday, again it was bad packaging......
First one had a 3' (yes, 3 feet) long gouge across the hood with no damage to the box what so ever. Obviously damaged, then packaged that way and then shipped.
The second one had a box that was too big for the hood so one of the corver cardboard/styrofoam pieces came off and the drivers side back ended up sticking through the box and broke off almost an inch of the corner point.
The box on the second one was also 3" to big in length and width. Even with the corner cardboard/styrofoam spacers, it could slide all over the inside of the box. This also caused the front of the hood to chafe on the box and ruff it up a bit as well.
6 weeks, 2 hoods, $400+ and still NOTHING, NILL, NADDA. Getting very irritated at Cervint at this point and let the guy who I talked to know it!
Amazes me at the severe lack of packaging for these hoods and lack of quality assurance BEFORE the box is finally sealed. Both hoods that I got could have been prevented if someone with eyeballs would have looked into the box before they stapled it shut.
One big box, 4 pieces of styrofoam, insert hood, ship 2,000 miles and hope it makes it. Hmmmmmm Something isn't right here, let me see if I can figure it out.........
Done venting.............Have a nice day

I sure hope you're not paying ANY shipping charges at all. If the make you pay for shipping, I STRONGLY suggest speaking with their section manager and explain in a mild tone voice how you are on your third hood, and how your voice is heard by hundreads who are interested in thier products. Compensation is needed!!!!

p.s. I hope 3rd times a charm! Good luck.

You may have noticed that I posted, a few days ago, a threat in which I have been trying to decide, Cervini or AAD????? https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/006974.html
Let Cervini know that your situation is helping me to decide which hood.

Same here, mine had a small gouge in the underside (from prior to packing, not bad enough to send it back), but it arrived ok with no damage to the box (NJ to WA). But when I did see it, I remember thinking that it sure looked like a pretty flimsy box for such a large heavy object. A simple thin wooden frame, full styrofoam packing, or at least a double wall of cardboard would have been nice, especially since it cost $113 just to ship it.

I'm willing to wait. I really like the quality of the hood except for the package issues. Everything else is definetly top notch.
I figure if they screw up, say 2 hoods every 6 months, then I am helping fellow L's get a good hood the first time. j/k
Talked to them about the ram air, and it will ustilize the stock air box location and be around $175. The other setup that was used in MM&FF, would cost $500-$600. So they decided to keep cost down they would keep the stock upper inlet and route the ram air into the stock air box location some how. It would be nice if they offer both versions. I would have to opt for the straight inlet design for sure.
