Post Air Intake Improvements

With the new changes in the air intake system for 2001, does this mean the 2001 in the stock configeration are the same as the 99-00 models with the PSP intake/Ram air type systems?

"A larger air intake opening in the left-front inner fender begins the process. In 2001 models, this opening is 50 percent larger, and the tube that ducts air from the fender opening to the filter box also is enlarged, leading to an inlet opening in the filter box that is 26 percent larger. The air filter itself is unchanged, but the outlet opening is 15 percent larger. Farther downstream the mass air sensor is increased from 80 to 90mm.

These changes combine to reduce restriction of airflow to the throttle body, which remains unchanged: dual 57mm bores with butterfly valves that open simultaneously, not in stages. This gives the engine exceptional throttle response by rapidly delivering large volumes of air to the supercharger. The Roots-type Eaton™ Generation IV supercharger has a cast aluminum case, machined aluminum internal rotors, and its own dedicated drive belt. There are no internal changes for 2001."

It would mean that the STOCK airbox has better performance.

Putting a PSP/AirRaid on a 2000 vs 2001 would be pretty much the same thing...only other differents is the 90mm MAF.
