Handheld Tuner for Lightning AND Cobra

The way I understand it, a new Predator or Excalibrator will "marry" itself to your particular VIN. Is it possible to use the same handheld tuner on a 2002 Lightning and a 2003 Cobra?

What about the Pro Racer Package self tuning software? Are these things VIN specific? Can you purchase an extra "license" to use with a second vehicle?

Thanks for any help.

There is no way around it, you have to buy seperate units for each vehicle.

You COULD use one tool with both, but you'd have to restore the other vehicle back to stock and unlock the tool every time you wanted to switch, so it's not really feasable.

The PRP software is based on one vehicle. You'd need to buy two PRP packages to do two vehicles.

Thanks, Sal. Another quick question.

With my 02 Lightning I just put on a 4lb pulley and am running the stock tune.
How does that work with the Cobra's
Can I install a 2.8 upper and expect the stock tune to run it (safely at WOT)? Or are they not nearly as forgiving as the Lightnings?

Thanks

A 2.8 upper on a Cobra is like 6-7 more psi. You DEFINITELY do not want to run that without a tune.

Even your Lightning, stock tune with a 4lb, is pushing it. I wouldn't do that.

All great info Sal, Thank you very much. I'll definitely be calling you for some tunes (and associated hardware) in the future.
