How much boost does your stock lightning see on an accurate guage....I have a K+N cold air kit on mine and am seeing 10.5 PSI. Just wondering what some of the other trucks out there are making.

 

You may have a gauge problem. I've heard of 9psi even 10 stock. But 10.5 is really pushing it. I saw 9 maybe 9.5 on a crisp cool night, then again I use CA 91 octane.

 

When stock mine put out about 8.5 in warm weather and about 9.5 in cool air.

 

My 04 sees 10 all the time. Autometer guage.

When mine was stock it saw 8 psi no matter what the temps were.

When I changed to an open cone filter and CAI I saw 9 psi, maybe 10 a few times if it was less than 60* temps. For the most part 9 psi.

It wasnt until I changed pullies that I saw any more than that. Thats when it all started....12 psi, 16 psi, then came the port

 

IMO the best $$$ to spend for a quick "boost" was the port job . With a 4# my 03 was getting 15 - 16 , but the best part was how fast it would spin up and get 15 - 16 ~!~

15-16 lbs with a 4lb lower? something must have been restricting the exhaust.

But then again all trucks are different.

I was seeing 12-14 with the 4lber and a stock eaton, once I ported it I lost a little boost- untill I added the 6lb lowe, then I more than made up for any losses.

 

I've seen 10.5 to 11 psi on a autometer gauge with everything stock in cold weather but it was typically 8-9 psi.
With 4lb and full exhaust I hardly ever see over 12 psi now.

 

I have no major mods to my 04 and it puts 11 down. Dont know how accurate the guage is though (stock)

 

I have an 04 and I get 10 to 10.5 all the time on my Defi guage

 

i also get 11-12 on my 99L and only has Bassani headers and the 01-04 mods like the 90mm, 42ib, oh and 4:10 on 22"

 

is there something wrong with the stock guage? I normally see 10 psi!
