Question Gen 1 Lightning

Need to know the best Rear Diff. oil to put in it says 5w/140 syn any HELP

That's probably 75W-140. Royal Purple would be good.

I will a friend told I would need to do that.Do I get it from ford or can I use any brand.Let me know @ Thanks

Most people get it from ford. I am not sure if there are other manufacturers.

get it from Ford, however be sure to get the righ tone there are 2 types one for sythetic oils and one for standard dino based oils.

If ya pick up some Royal Purple, the additive is already in their product... no need to get any extra.

Thanks I did not know that and when i called ford were my pap-paw bought all is trucks they did not have a clue to how much it would hold they said there books only go back to 96.I talked to a guy at a auto parts store and he told me it would take 5@half or 6@half .This is my 1st Lightning and I just got it at the end of Sept.The guy taht bought it new took great care of it.Oil every 3000 mil.and all.I have changed it twice since I got it. I put autolite xp in new wire's,K&N drop in,KYB mono max,Kumo ECSTA STX,Pennzoil Platinum Full syn.1994 build#601 Black.Now it is about warm enough to start under the hood. THANKS
