RTKILLA,
As said earlier if you are buying the R for any kind of a daily driver, don't!!. The R is a great car, but it is a race car and drives like one. It wonders around the road with those wide sticky tires and the sound is great but after a while it gets to you. I love my R and wouldn't give it up for the world, but I feel it would get old fast diving it everyday. If you like people constantly comming up to you asking about you car this is for you. I get sick of it, went to the track once and there were about 10 people around the car all day, so I had to stand right there to keep people and kids from touching it.
Another thing you may not be aware of is you have to pay luxery tax on this car besides normal sales tax. The luxery tax is being fased out but still adds to the price.
I bought mine in september, found it on the net and paid alot less than you mentioned, got it for sticker. Just thought maybe I could help you out being I own both.
Brian

I paid 70K for mine, bought it as an investment, never driven it, still shrink wrapped and plastic on the seats. It's not really pratical for driving, but it is mega cool. For what it's worth, I plan to keep it a year (so I can take the earnings as capital gains) and selling it for around $100K. I have no doubt I'll get it, the one at the dealer here is still on the floor, but they've turned down offers over 85K.

overpriced POS. If you want power of this nature go buy the Z06. Collectory item..good luck..you will never profit from 70,000 large...its absolutely $ucked. A Mexican Doctor bought the one at North Side Ford..or whateva they call it (local SVT dealer)..he paid 74,000 and his monthly is 1400.00! I saw him last summer with the cheapo pop out plexiglass window out..and it was 110 degrees!...and I just thought...in the comfort of my AC...what a joke. The Z06 blows away that ride. Just my .02..jw

if you really have that kind of money keep the L and get a supercharged saleen. almost as fast and will turn just as many heads or get a zo6 for 50k and keep your L, hell when we are talking this kind of money 8K isnt that much more.
Since investment keeps coming up i think it would be quite a while before the car escalted in price. remember when the zr-1 corvettes came out and the dealers where getting 70K?, now a nice one goes in the 30k to 40k range even a buick gnx from 1987 hasent really escalated in price. what car in the last 20 years has really put alot of change in someones pocket? for all you know next year they might make 5,000 of them with a/c and a radio.

Get a Z06...faster than the cobra R, better handling and extremely more streetable. You get a/c, power, criuse etc. Above all just 47K!

Save it for some insane collector.
You'd grow to hate it, and you wouldn't be able to recap you investment once you tried to sell it.

Plus, wouldn't you feel stupid when someone in a tricked out 96 DOHC blew you away?

If I did buy it I wouldn't drive it everday, only on the weekends. Thats what I started doing with my L when I got my work truck. I already got 26000 miles on her. Its just so hard to not drive something so cool. For the 70,000 dollars I'm thiking its not worth it. For that much I could buy a viper. I think they look the badest out of any car's out there for the price. Only mopar I would ever buy. I just really like the exclusivity of the cobra R. How many vipers a year do they make about. I love cars but I need to start moving out. I want my own house so I can have some huge a$$ parties. I got the stereo for it but just no pad. I love my L anyway so I guess I'll forget about that one. I get like that though, one day I want to trick out the L, the next day I want to do this or that. I just can never make up my mind.
