Post 2002 changes?

I know it is early, but I was wondering if anyone knew what changes the 2002 Lightning will be. What will the HP be? Torque? MSRP? I am going to trade for one in 2002 and want to know the scoop. Is there anywhere on the net that has information on the changes? Thanks in advance.

They just officially released the 01 spec's about 3-4 weeks ago....you've got about another year to wait. However, rumor has it......

I don't think there will be any major changes for 2002, since there will be a major redesign in 2003.
However onenever knows, Ford has surprised me before.

What are the major changes for the F-150 in 2003? Is it going to be a major boy change?

Not sure about the body, here are the engine changes that I found.

Planned program changes and enhancements:

* An all new 5.4L 3V engine will be used in the F-Series and Expedition replacing the 5.4L 2V engine.

* An all new 5R100W automatic transmission will replace the 4R100.

* Ford will upgrade the 4R75W to the 4R70W for 5.4L 3V powered F-150's and Expeditions.

* An all new 4.5L Navistar diesel will appear

* An all new R4 manual transmission is scheduled; however, engineering problems might cause its delay or cancellation

Power increases:

4.2L V6 will utilize mechanical returnless fuel system. 210hp, 260ft-lbs. torque

4.6L 2V will carry forward from U222 with 240hp, 295ft-lbs. torque, IAFM mechanical returnless fuel system. This engine will be shared between the F150 and Expedition only.

5.4L 3V will feature VCT, dual spark plugs, IAFM, ETC with torque based shift, electronic returnless fuel system. 305-325hp, 365-385ft-lbs. torque. It will be mated to a 4R75W when used in the Expedition and to a 4R75W or a 5R100W when used in an F150.

5.4L 3V bi-fuel is another new engine with the same modifications as the 5.4L 3V but can be used with leaded fuel, NGV as required. It will be mated to a 4R75W transmission when used in an Expedition and either a 4R75W or 5R100W when used in an F150.

5.4L 4V will be modified for increased output. Horsepower will jump to 325 and 355ft-lbs. of torque. It will only be used in the Navagator and Blackwood and will feature ETC with torque based shifting, electronic returnless fuel system and a 5R100W transmission.

The transmission will be a 5R110, 1100 ft/lbs of torque.
The Lightning will get either 3 or 4 valve heads. More boost and better flowing intake.

Factory_Tech, just out of curiosity, where did you get the torque capacity from. I understand you work possib;y at the tranny plant but those numbers seem higher than what I have been told.
