Toyota Tundra Killed Today.

Toyota Tundra Killed Today.
Normally I wouldn't post a kill thread; but, this is a little different situation. Today I was on my way out to eat. I pulled around a slow driver (The Tundra). There was Vette in front of him a little farther up the road (C5). I pulled around the vette at 55 and he matched me wanting to run them. I agreed and proceeded to show him my tail lights to about 100. He dropped back a couple of lengths. Well, I slowed down and a few seconds later, look in my rearview and am surprised to see the Tundra grille on my *** tight. I shake my head in dismissal and continue to ride at the speed limit. He pulls up beside me and is giving me a hard time; so, I say why not. I tromp on it and start waving Buhbye as I steadily walk away from him... Only about as fast as I walk my friend's stock Lightning!
Those things are pretty sweet for a big truck. Watch out stock L drivers.

a new lightning is needed before toyota tries to play its game

Now imagine it again with the TRD supercharger thrown in on top of it. If someone was wanting a brand new Lightning, Toyota has one waiting for you. LOL

The crew cab has a 0-60 of 6.1 seconds which is pretty damn close to a stock Lightning of 5.8 (01-04) and 99-00 of 6.2. I heard that the regular cab with the 381hp engine is still a few months away.
That truck has an incredible engine but from a design standpoint, its really *ucking ugly. The interior, dash... is very odd especially the Camry steering wheel. But the japs learn very quickly and unlike the Detroit 3, they have the cash to do anything they want.
Sales of them aren't doing too well as Toyota has already put incentives on them. Very unusual considering they have been out for a few months.

The April edition of Motor Trend tested a 07 double cab 4x4. Weight was 5845 lbs and traction was the issue. Lock the hubs and they came away with a 0-60 of 6.0 and a 1/4 mile of 14.6. 14 MPG and 381HP on regular unleaded and a base price of 39,195 . I'm no Toyota fan, but that is moving for a full size 4x4. It will be interesting if they add a super charger to the 2wd standard cab.
