Spark plug blew out. what are my options

Well my truck blew the last plug on the passanger side of the motor. It happen before about a month ago and I was able to put a new ngk plug back in. But now the threads are shot.

So what are my options as far as heads.

What does it usually cost to do a job like this for some shop to do it.

How much work would be involed if I did it myself

Oh my motor is 100% stock no pulley or nothing

option #1: TimeSerts or heli-coils

option #2: buy the upgraded heads found in the '03-up L

Welcome to the club - unfortunately...

I had a Timesert put in when one of my plugs came out... I haven't had any problems with it since then.

Based on your location, I would suggest calling Sal and seeing if he can help you... I imagine he has a good amount of experience making this repair...

not 100% sure but you need to have "busted" threads in order to use a TimeSert or Heli Coil.

Well since these heads are a 4 ring head instead of and 8 ring spark pllug head. I want to just change the head so I don't have this problem again.

Was going to start a new thread but I'll ask here first. Can a head be change with the motor still in the truck. Or does the motor Have to be pulled.
