Been solidly at 140+ several times. The truck handles like a dream. Have contemplated trying to set the cruise control at that speed but haven't found a road long enough.

Talking OK,Who's come close or buried the speedo?

About a month ago I had a wide open road(hard to believe?) so I mashed the motor. Got it up to 130MPH before I chickened out! It was still pulling hard enough to make me think 140mph would be NO PROBLEM. So,who else has done the wide open road thing?

During the cruise out to the WFC3 last year in St.Louis, I broke away from the lead to "open her-up" a little. I had the speedometer well past the white in the cluster. From what I figured, I was running close to 150 easily Then I simply coasted for many miles while the others caught up It was great...just ask JL

I know my truck will peg the speedo at 4000 rpm, had the tach to well over 4700, so i think 150 is no prob. Shawn

I'll have to leave Michigan to check my speedo for accuracy, "When I get my 2001"! Why? Because Michigan roads "SUCK". You guys in state's that have nice roads, are lucky!

I'm just guessing that a Snug Lid is good for a few MPH, the only limit tot he 140 figure is "drag", that said, I have a Snug Lid, but I've only had it up to about 130, had lots left, though...

4D Thnder: No, I only hit 130ish then, it was when I was racing a Toyota Celica back when I was still in the low 14's i think...

Cool

Thought that happened a month or so ago...

N/M, I looked it up on the Hampton Roads board and it was against GMRULZ and it only went to 120.

I'm not blessed with long deserted roads around here, so I've only been close. The impressive thing is how quickly my truck jumped from 65mph to 130mph. I'm guessing it was less than 1/4 mile. The Mustang GT (my buddy) absolutely could not keep up.

I have taken mine to 132 with two buddies in the truck trying to push a brand new mustang out of the way. Backed off when I hit 132 because the wife was fallowing us and I didn't want to get an ear full when we stopped.
