It was bound to happen,,,a poor southern california kid had his lightning truck with a 2.6 crash into cars and a building.

the throttle stuck

it gets even more sad,,,the kid had been painting and working on the truck for awhile

it was the trucks madien voyage he went to a large lightning get together,,,uninsured

 

That is sad, but he is a dumb azz for driving a high hp vehicle w/no insurance. I mean, why would you???

 

well,,,he wasnt driving it,,,then he seen a get together close to home and he screwed up,,,we all screw up

im sure the throttle would have stuck if he was insured or not

im not sure that the 2.6 kb is legal to sell in california,,,,kb might be on the hook

you are prolly right,,but gawd danm,,,they sell a blower to a guy,,,,he installs it,,,it says nothing about cutting your hood to make it work in the instructions (it does now) and a guy smashes the crap out of everything,,,man that blows

Ya, it may have stuck weather or not he had insurance....but the difference is, HE WOULD HAVE GOT PAID!!! Again....stoooopidity!

As for the Pedal, as most of you know BEEN THERE DONE THAT and dam near got killed myself as a result of the Pedal getting stuck floored, AND MY INSTRUCTIONS HAD NOTHING ABOUT CUTTING THE HOOD EITHER. But after I made a big stink on line THEN all of a sudden a supplement came out with the EXACT location and cut I happen to have made on mine (and posted pic's of)


Although Jim Bell makes very light of this problem, I DONT. People can die due to this little oversite, AMOF I PM'd Kwilt about this yesterday to MAKE SURE he was aware of it (before I even heard it happen AGAIN) ....

ANYONE with a 2.6 KB needs to either file down the Throttle Body Linkage Arm
OR Cut Your Hood, and in reality it's not a big deal at all IF you know about it

Kwilt I know you have no hood on yours for the voyage run but in case you dont know (or others) here's the deal

I'm sure you cound just file the Linkage Arm or give the hood a shot with a ball pein hammer, but I wasnt taking no chances, and after I painted the edges of the cut out you'd never even know....

It is stupid driving such a valued Vehicle with no insurance, but I've done it a million times with other vehicles so I have no finger to point, just a BIG

HOWEVER before everyone calls someone an a$$hole we dont know "think about this".....
When you get on your Beast (and since it has a 2.6 KB lets assume it's 600 RWHP) you look for the room and STOMP IT. You also stay on it pretty much til the last second still knowing you have room to stop, slow down, switch a lane, etc.... BUT when you do get off it and then all of a sudden it's still floored, by the time you react (no matter how fast) simply may not give you the room to make up for the extra speed you are now traveling.

Ya this could have been avoided but for christ sake I'm sure the guy feels bad enough already....

 

who cares if he feels bad. I'm sure all the cars and building he smashed don't feel too good.

Luckily he didn't kill anyone.
