Post color change paint on the L?

i am getting ready to by a used lightning. 99 model probably white because itd make a better base coat.

it is going to be strictly show. i will probably never drive it.

i am building a project truck right now and am thinking of putting the color change paint on it.

i am also going to put it on the L more than likely if i can get some comments from some members here.

anyone know how much something like this cost?

I think your talking about the mystic paint? It is alittle more expensive then the regular paint, i think it is around time and a half more then the regular paint average. So its almost twice as much or atleast this is what I have been told by paint shops in the part of Texas im in. Personaly Mystic ghost flames on a Black or Red Lightning would look really sweet.

thats the word i couldnt think of.

i pulled up next to a green s-10 2 days ago in my L and when i turned to look a him it was an orange s-10.

anyways he wanted to race and after i left him a few miles down the road he flys by me going about 95, guess he beat me,

anyway the truck , or the paint i mean, looked really good.

so what about $4-$5000 to paint the entire truck.

If you want a "show quality" paint job using mystic paint I would expect to pay atleast 8-10k

I was quoted $11,000 to paint my L in Mystic paint. I don't think my quote was too high considering the paint is $250 a PINT! I also spoke with a Mustang owner @ WFC 3 that paid $10,000 for a Mystic paint job. Man, was it SWEET!

Later,
Jake...

I was thinking about putting flames on my BLack L that should be here in less than a month. I want the ghost flames where you can only see them when a light hits it at a certain angle, I think that's soo sweet. Is this done with Mystic paint? How much would you guess fust the flames would cost??

Yeah I'm gonna do something like that too, since the guy who painted my hood screwed up my entire front end (well it's not that bad but not show quality either). I'm gonna keep it dark though, like a mystic midnight blue, does that exist?

Here's what I found out: There're are a lot of people out there who will take the job from you. They mostly have good intentions, they rarely produce good results. I was getting bids for a truck dropped right off the delivery truck and still I had to deal with a lot of variables.

One. What gets painted. Are you going to pull the engine? Yank the doors? Remove the panels? If so, money.

Two. Do you care that you are dollar for dollar not going to recapture your expenditure at resale time? Think swimming pool: "You're investing in your lifestyle. You will be able to get closer to your full asking price when you go to sell it."

Three. You can't insure it within the pricing of a normal policy. Money.

Four. Repair it? Money.

Anyway, those are questions you didn't ask. The low bid was $6500 and the high bid was $11,000. Neither shop garnered pure confidence.

I have seen these paint jobs done well, but I've seen a lot more of them screwed up, taking that into consideration, you should consider that your name will wilol be stricken from the book of life and you'll burn in eternity if you screw up a Lightning, ya know?
