ust installed PSPs"NEW" Electric Fan kit(engine). WOW!!
Just got through installing PSPs Electric fan kit for the engine. It is really a Trick Piece. Comes already mounted in an (OEM) fan shroud w/relay and wiring attached.
Install took an hour from start to finish. That's including installing a toggle switch for the track.
Only problem is: I am starting to gather toggle switches on my dash.he,he,he.
(i/c pump, i/c fans, engine fan, trans cooling fan) so far.
Boy, my engine revs like a ferrari now!!

Didn't have a chance to actually test it on the street=too wet, though it seems to rev quicker.
The fan kit I believe cost me $215.00 plus shipping. And that includes a new OEM fan shroud from Ford.
I'll test it at the track.

Okay guys,
Here's the skinny.
The hook up is simple: You can run it to a toggle switch and turn it on and off manualy or trigger the relay with an ignition source so the fan is on when the engine is started.
Also you can buy an after market thermostat (which has to be installed in the thermostat housing that will turn the fan on and off by temp.)
I choose to trigger the fan with the ignition source but through a toggle switch. This is for running the fan at the track to cool down my L in the staging lanes and turning it off when I make a run.
Left in the on position it turns on off the ignition switch.
After going through all this I realized that PSPs instructions cover this alot better then I just did.
RTKILLA-Fax Sal with your order it's the easiest way to reach him.

Hey Dan. You probably feel like you're firing up a 747 with all those switches. Pretty cool, and an intimidation factor for those to view at the track as you open the door and start flicking toggles.
Getting rid of the stock fan on my buddy's heavily modded 5.0 really woke it up. I'm guessing about 20 hp worth.
Once again, I need mo' money, mo' money mo' money!!

I had dual electric fans on my 89 Shelby Dakota. They were installed by Shelby because of engine clearance problems. They were thermostatically controlled as well set to come on when the air conditioner compressor kicked in. Something to think about because if air is not flowing over the coils it won't cool as good. This is not a problem running down the road but it is at an idle or slow speeds.

LTNBOLT-There is optional thermostat control kits available from $35.00-$150.00. Most require drilling and taping a hole in the thermostat housing for their sensor to fit in. Am not into that. The fan runs all the time, draws 10.3 amps, with a/c or without it on. Doubt if I will ever not need it on. Except at the track.
