Well when I took my 93 in to have the rear main done over the winter it took them a week..I go inspect the truck before I go in and find a Miller High Life can in the back...Rut Roh...Walk into the dealership with a can of beer..You should have seen the looks..I walk up to the Service Manager and ask him to throw this away for me.."Where'd you get that" he asks.."One of you drunky tech's threw it in there. Get my truck now"..Let's just say there's a pretty dark pair of black marks from a pair of spinning 275's...

I perform the following steps when I take her in to Cooter and the boys.

1. Stipulate the number of miles on the OD in B-I-G numbers.
2. NO ONE except the Service Manager drives it, period, in B-I-G letters. This one can be tough, depends on what is being "done" to it.
3. Make sure the service writer verifies the cleanliness of the fenderwells and interior.

4. Firmly impress on them that monkey business WILL NOT be tolerated.

--and lastly---

NO M- F'IN carwash. I will do it my damn self.

I am planning on taking my truck in for the clunk and when it goes bad the intercooler and I was wondering have any of you taken the truck in and had the dealer put a lot of miles on it? Do you check the odometer and gas gauge before you take it in? I just don't want anyone ragging on the vehicle I am paying for! Thanks!

When I had the clunk fixed (replaced lower control arms) I am pretty sure they put about ten miles on my truck. Test drive?

Actually, I did not mind too much because the front-end tech seemed like a cool guy who would not abuse the truck anymore than it was designed to take. Gas gauge was noticeably lower. But that is not hard to do in a Lightning. Gauges are inaccurate anyway.

I did not notice any burnt tire debris around the wheel-wells.

yeah, even though i was standing there they can still #$%@ up.

i took the truck to my insurance place for an estimate.. they quoted me right at $1000 worth of damage. ouch.
good thing is that they saw damage done to the fender that i didnt see..

i'm waiting for the ford dealership to get the ground effects in before they fix my truck.

Your dealers don't give you a acceptions form. I get one every time, it has the miles on it, fuel level, any major damage. little nicks don't count.
