Has anyone ever raced a Typhoon or a Syclone in their Lightning? I am curious as to who would win. I read in a magazine that they were the kings of the light to light races. It is hard to beat an AWD vehicle that is Turbo Charged.

I think you can probably get a definitive answer from some of the people on this board who also own or owned Syclones and Typhoons. The '92 Syclone was a bad truck, stock for stock probably slightly quicker than a '99 L. They would be tough to beat in a short street race because of the problems we have hooking up on the street. I think the '01 L. might have a slight edge, though, but it would be a good race. Put a few mods on our trucks and they would beat a stock Syclone, but the arms race works both ways: http://www.syty.org/times.html

 

A good running Sy should take a Lightning for the first 60' The L will be pulling on it after that. The Lightning has great torque, once it sticks. I did a steet race at the track against a Sy. I gave him a 6 car length headstart, & I was about 2-3 lengths ahead at the end of the quarter. His truck should've been a little stronger though. Lloyd
