Question Crippled Truck

Cruising to work this evening in the heavy rain the beast started missing. Being on a exposed section of road between two bays and just above the water I kept chuggin' along until I got to a safer place to pull over. Man it was coming down. I called a co-worker who happens to own a black 93 and he came and picked me up. I work offshore and will not be back in till the morning. It's killin' me to think of it sittin' out there in the open. Anyway it would idle about 600 rpm. Ragged is the word that comes to mind. Felt like it was running on only a few cylinders or very weak spark. I had filled up about a 1/4 of a tank back. I'm running an open filter with the dust cover. I was initially thinkin` I had soaked the filter down. Then a plugged fuel filter, 49000 and I still haven't hanged it yet. The motor only has about 14000 on it. Any ideas or suggestions ? I'll have to trouble shoot it in the morning and am hoping it is just damp ignition problems..but I have my doubts.
Thanks for your thoughts......

sound like the fuel pump problem. i was driving home last night in New Orleans in the same monsoon, with a JL Ram Air 6" from the ground and no problems with the flooded streets. unless you splashed enough water up on the coils to run rough. or maybe one of those pos plats crapped out. good luck, i hope it's ok
