Well, I don't know about the Lightning, but from what I've heard about the 2003 Cobra they are going to a 350 horse 5.0L engine, so maybe look for that in the Lightning, with a supercharger, hmmm 420 horses maybe

The 2003 L is supposed to be a 3 valve.

 

This post was very good to read, now I am SURE I will wait for the 2003. Can't wait!

 

I think SVT might be putting their effert into the Cobra more so then the "L" in 2002,
but I'am sure the 2002 "L" will be AWESOME! I don't really think their will be any major changes to the body more so on the engine in the 02 "L"

Ford is building the Lightnings at least through the 2004 model year. The '03 will have a new design (along with the major F-150 redesign for that year) that will include a 400+ HP and 500 + Ft/lb torque engine with the new 5R110W automatic 5 speed.
