Been gone for a couple years, hehe...questions on exhaust, chips

Hey guys,

My 02 has long been paid for and it has 43K miles and I am getting to where I wanna do a cat back and maybe a chip/pulley set up but have no idea who and what is good these days as I know advancements have been made.

Can anyone give me any recommendations for exhausts and chip combos and from who??

check out any of the supporting vendors, I would try to use an interchangeable pulley system.

Start w/ a 4lb lower and a tune (JDM lower & SCTis my preference). should net you around 400/500.
Next do an FTVB and T-Bars
for more power go to a 6lb lower and a ported blower, 450+/550+ possible.

check out my sig for more ideas

Happy Modding

Thanks for the info...

Yeah I was thinking a 4pound pulley and a tune.

I have the valve body already...I put that in about 4 years ago, heheh

Def go w/ the 4lb pulley. I have a 4lb ring I'm trying to get rid of since I upgraded to a 6lb, but you would have to purchase the hub that bolts to the crank. With just the 4lb and a tune I'd put you at around 380hp/490-500tq. As far as the catback, go with what sounds good to you. I'm partial to the Bassani, since it has a different tone to it and doesn't sound stock.

If you want to do something simple get yourself an Superchips 1715 Microtuner with a 4lb pulley. Install the 4lb pulley and load the Lightning tune from the 1715. Then hold on! I think you will be pleasantly surprised. I know I was. I ran a 12.95 @ 107 mph in the 1/4 with this combo.

Before you start increasing power though, I would suggest that you change the valvebody in the tranny to help your tranny accomodate the new found power.

You will also need some sort of traction device as well. A set of slappers will work fine at this power level.

Also another vote for Bassani here. Love the sound of the exhaust.

Thanks for the info guys...it is appreciated. It gives me some options and I am going to do some research.

As far as 41 sunday goes, I am still in Dirt Bike mode (until thanksgiving) and we are heading over to a place called motoland near Laporte, IN.
