21, and I pay for my own truck and live in my own house (apartment)since I was 18. The only way I know a 16-18 year old kid could afford a $32,000 truck, is buy selling crack or rich parents!

23 and with a bone t'pick.
With the advent of the internet, online stock and commodities trading, day trading and dot com IPOs, it is more than possible for someone of ANY age to acquire enough wealth to purchase a 32K truck or perhaps even a 257K 353 acre ranch.
I'm doing fairly well for myself being as that I am "only" 23 with a Masters and employment that compensates me with over 6 figures before the decimal, annually. Hell, at 17 I made over 55,000 annually on nothing but going to college and trading stocks online.
I think a lot of the "old" dogs on the block don't completely comprehend that in today's work environment and economy that age isn't much of a factor in white collar industries. Most of the gentlemen that I work with are in my age range, all within the same educational range and all of us own our own homes, at least two, if not three, vehicles and have spouses that need not work if they choose not to.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not attempting to run down experience, wisdom and the insight that hopefully old age grants, but I think its time that some of the younger generation got a little bit more respect.

Caelists; It is not the money you make or what you have its that your Happy w/your life.
Only thing where all trying to keep up with is time, its gaining on all of us.
Seems most of the money makers I deal with are in there 50's, cause the had the time to earn it.
Just a thought.

Caelistis, married? JK
You actually seem a little sensitive. It's ok. I am sure nobody meant anything derogatory in their comments. Everybody is different. At 17 if your dad handed you the keys to a brand new Lightning, screw working hard to earn it, it's play time. I'm 23 too. I have a degree in animal husbandry. For those of you who are not aware of the basics to that, cows doin it. I am a travel agent so you can see what good the money spent on college did. At 65 a lot of people just aren't provided with the tools necessary to begin a new career and top 6 figures. It's just one of those things.

Actually.......no, I'm not married. Haven't found a young woman who enjoys racing as much as I do.
Am I sensitive? Not really, in all honesty. I just see the whole "old dawgs vs new dawgs" thing on about every forum I visit.
At 17 had my Dad handed me the keys to a Lightning.....I would have politely declined and gotten back into that brute of a Mustang that I used to drive. Cause I KNOW she would've beaten the pants off a Lightning. Saleen SC351 anyone?
