Need Advice on Trade-In...
All,
The day has finally come, I need to trade in the L to get something more family oriented. We had a new baby girl a few months ago and I need to get rid of the L to get my wife something new. My L has 57000K and tires with only 2K on them. Only minor nicks and scratches and clean title, no accidents, non-smoker etc. See my sig for other mods. What do you think would be fair on a trade in? Good condition on KBB is $11,350. I'm going tomorrow to get a value on both of our vehicles. Thank you!!!
Jim

i know this thread is a few months old...but i had to chime in with my experience today.
I have a 2003 lightning, clean, good condition, 83,000m. Only thing is that the tailgate was stolen. Went to trade it in for a 2008 FJ trail teams edition. Got a good deal on the car, but when the time to came to talk about trade in, HAHA.
KBB says 12.5k-15k for good trade in. Minus about 1,500 for tailgate, what th dealer said it would cost(it actually costs alot less).
Long story short, dealer offered me $7,500. Needless to say i found it funny, and was on my way home quick...in my lightning. I almost felt offended hearing that.

I saw in the news that some dealers were refusing Big SUVs at any price. Prices going down so fast that they don't even want them on their lots.
Its about time that this stupid trend for 7000-8000lb 4 X 4 SUV comes to an end. Most of these vehicles don't even see a gravel road. I say off to the crusher. Lol
