Our Brakes Suck!

Our Brakes Suck!
Went to FORD to get an oil change, and some new brake pads, only to find out that I had heat cracks in the front rotors, thus I ended up getting 2 new front rotors and pads! It was way too expensive $850 f@!%&# dollars!
It seems to me our brakes in Lightnings go out out pretty damn fast regardless of how you drive it!
Any advice for a cheaper route next time? I've heard of rotorpros but how is the quality?

its a problem for all F150s- they go through pads pretty quick. brakes are easy dude, next time just buy the parts and do it yourself. First time, just take your time and it should still only take you a few hours. also, you dont have to buy Ford parts- there is plenty of good stuff for a lot cheaper. Doint it yourself should run like $250 tops for pads and rotors.

New Hawk HPS pads (~$80 /pr front or rear) at PepBoys or Tire Rack, new rotors at O'Reilly (~$20 each) seals a few dollars more, bearings if needed. You were no doubt using ceramic brake linings, they will heat check and even blue your rotors. Bleed the brakes enough to replace all the brake fluid with fresh Valvoline synthetic brake fluid, Valvoline Synthetic has high dry and wet resistance boiling point, widely available, and relatively low cost.
You will not have that problem with the Hawk HPS pads. Generally can change pads 2-3 times without changing rotors, but with price so cheap, you can change them every time if you want. Sorry, dealer (or most anyone else) will screw you for rediculous prices. The work is relatively easy, but help form an experienced friend is good if you are inexperienced.

I have got nearly 50,000 miles and just got them checked and they are still good for another 10,000. Can't complain on that also these are the originals not been replaced yet.
