I just checked one of my other postings and it seems like other guys are getting their build dates but mine still seems to be stuck in delay status. I'm getting more and more p!ssed each day that goes by and it doesn't change. I'm hoping to have it by the end of May, but at the rate we're going here I'll be lucky to have it by Christmas! Thanks for the help.

there's a white 01 at riverside ford in macon, ga. i'm drooling over it, but can't afford one yet. would someone tell me where i can get info on "x-plan"--what is it, etc.? thanks, dan

There is a delay cause they are pulling your engine to replace mine! hehehehe
Seriously, they said they were gonna pull an engine off the line to fix my cracked block.

 

I was told mine is on hold due to the "total performance package" (same as 2shodon). What exactly does this mean?

As of March 29, My Lightning is now on "Temporary Delay" also.

I wonder if this is better than "clean" that it used to be...

Well, Coldie, you're going in the right direction. AS I understand it, your order has been pulled once it gets off of "clean" status. I just called and my order is now scheduled for a build date of 04/23. I am happy once again!! It's amazing how a good piece of news like that will brighten an otherwise crappy day!!

Coldie, you might want to check your order again. We might be in the same batch.

I got a call from my dealer last week. GMF, said mine too is scheduled for 04/23/01 build date. I'm going near crazy in anticpation!!

Hey tliss. Man, I don't know why your having to wait so long to get your truck. I bought mine at Southwest Ford 3 weeks ago and they had two others sitting on the lot.

 

I have a 01 L that was ordered 11-28-00. It was placed as a stock order. All this time it has been unscheduled and clean. Two weeks ago my dealer changed the order to a retail order. This Monday I was informed that I now have a VIN # but the status is TEMP DELAY......THIS WAITING IS KILLING ME..

Are you in line for the black 01, at Messer? You know a black 01 arrived at Messer a couple weeks ago. Unclaimed on arrival, folks were standing in line to procure this baby! My salesman said another black, and my red L are scheduled for build 4/23...?

At the time I ordered I really didn't want it until June or July because I'm saving to put down about $15,000 so I can avoid paying $600/month. I have been figuring out ways to bring it in and bring it in and finally figured out a way to do it in May, which is when it looks like it'll make it here!! I have been told by my sales guy that it'll take about 3-5 weeks after it goes on the line to be delivered. If it gets delayed any longer I may just have to go around dealer by dealer throughout the country and find my baby that way. We'll see. Thanks for all of the comments and support.

You know, maybe we should develop a support group for guys whose Lightnings are on order and who are going crazy because of it. I could picture it now.....

Tom: "Hi...my name is Tom, and I'm a Lightning-aholic. I ordered my truck last month and it's STILL DELAYED!!! What can I do?!?!?!"

Support Counselor: "It's OK. That's what we're all here for. All of your counselors are recovering from 'waiting too long and the anticpation is killing me syndrome' and know what you're going through. We're here to help you get through this....have a beer..."

I've got a funky imagination, huh? WEll, if you couldn't tell, I'm at home on a Friday night on the computer (LOSER) and my wife is out of town at that!! Kinda sukcs around here, so there's lots of time to think. Oh well.

There's some pretty fun guys over there, and they are trying to get a Lightning club going out here, so the more members we can get the better. We're supposed to be getting together April 14 for a car show. I have to rechcek the detail. Check us out.
