Post Does anybody not take their L to the track?

Just wondering if anybody uses the L as just a regular pickup, besides the random burnouts

I think it might seem like everbody goes to the track, but I think there are more that do not(IMHO). This is a beautiful truck, no matter how you drive it!!!!!!!!!My 98 Nav seemed a titch faster than my 00 F150 5.4 chipped, etc, but when I stab the Nav now, it feels like I'm sleeping!!

I'll be going to the track after some more miles, and when I can get away. I'm probably one of the only L owners that picked up their truck from the dealer new, and left with a car trailer hitched on the back.
The first 1200 miles were mostly hooked to the trailer.

cabraco> How do you like the Downey SST ?
I just ordered one of them and a BedRug.

I got rid of the wet oalkes(should change my sig), cause (IMHO) they just look like a 70's polyester suit, I just like the look of the factory interior much better, but I do like the fit and look of the Downey SSt(and the price,$196 including shipping at tpcarguy). Got a 1000 miles on mine and all I can say is BaDa Boom!!!!!!!!!!

Uhmmm...I thought the track started at the end of my driveway?

Actually, I've never had mine at the track (dragstrip or otherwise). I'd love to get into road racing, but it's too expensive for the L.

Here's a link below to a bunch of dragstrips for every state and even outside the country. You need to go just once at least. I just went Friday for the first time and I can't wait to go back. My left foot was shaking on the brake pedal while staging the very first run. After I won 4 times in a row, the nervousnous wore off and I had a blast. I even lost twice to heavily-modded drag cars and laughed while I was at full throttle and they were pulling off into the distance like I was in neutral.....

I came across a 00 today that the guy was using to haul mulch and some other stuff home from Home Depot. I use mine like a regular truck, but for me that means treating it like it's a car. I've run mine at the track a couple of times but it's not an every weekend thing for me. The picture in my sig was taken at DeSoto dragstrip in Fl.

I don't take it to the track. I drive back and forth to class and as my normal vehicle.

Never yet been to the track. A friend is trying to talk me into it this summer, but I don't know. I don't really need it, and who knows, I might like it too much!

Well, I started with the intention of using my L. primarily to tow my boat. I had no intention of modding it, or ever taking it to a track, until I started reading this damn board. But then, chip 'n filter, why not, seemed like a lot of gain for minimal cost. Well, it is indeed a slippery slope when you start modding these trucks. And once modded you have to find out what they'll do, dontcha? I always wanted a vehicle that would do 100 in the 1/4. Now that I have it I want to join the 12 second club. So now I have a Cobra TB in the garage, waiting to be installed after the tranny rebuild and i/c fix. Who knows where this madness will stop?

Mine is a work truck, got to drive it to check jobs everyday. Breaks my heart, and write it off to boot. Life is a bitch.
