Question 16x8 inch rim backspacing

okay.. IF (hehe) i were to have a set of MT et streets (26x11.5x16) and i wanted a set of rims (16x8) what should i look for?

i tried to order some rims but the guy at american racing said that 16 inch rims wouldnt fit the truck (i said, it COMES with a 16" spare moron!). how can i make sure these aftermarket rims will fit? will ANY 16 inch rim fit the back of the truck?
here are some of the rims i am looking at right now.

offset 15.88
backspacing 5.125
size 16x8
bolt pattern 5x135

offset 12.7
backspacing 5
size 16x8
pattern 5x135

offset 12.7
backspacing 5
size 16x8
pattern 5x135

offset 15.88
backspacing 5.125
size 16x8
pattern 5x135

i know they aren't much to look at, but they are cheap!

has anyone researched this? i searched, but got nowhere.

Clonetek
Go to www.americaneaglewheel.com and look under trucks/SUV, then look up number 058. Get a 16x10 with a 5on125(135). Those et streets need as much rim as possible. Hope that helps

Brooks,

Whats up??

I just went through the wheel saga myself. Hopefully today, I will have them mounted and balanced.

Anyway, I went with the American Racing "Baja" series #1726835
http://www.americanracing.com/ar2000...asp?wheelid=11

Its a 16x8, 5x135, 4.45 BS.

The best place, the only darn place I found them in stock was Truckadd-ons 800-388-8637 Extension 1510 Jamie. He was the wheel man.

Anyway, 105 each.

I got the MT's through Summit Racing. They have a 10% off coupon good until 4/20. They were in stock and took about 3 days to deliver.

I am only waiting on the f'ing UPS to get their heads out of their butts and make the re-route as I requested and the rims should be here.

I will post some pics later tonight if I get everything as planned.

Any q's, give me a call

Later

Clonetek, any of the wheels you mentioned will work perfectly. I have the ones in the second photo. "tailgunners" they were $78.00 each in chrome. I mounted 26x11.50x16 ET Streets. A bit of advise: get the lugnuts at the same time if you have a 2000! Otherwise nobody stocks them! American makes the correct lugnuts for the steel wheels. Lloyd

Other than cost why wouldnt you guys use a 16 x 10 rim rather than 16X8 with a 26x11.50x16 tire ? Wouldnt he 10" rim have less of a ballon to the sidewall ??

American racing sells both sizes.
Thanks in advance

what size rims are you and dennis using doug?
i was worried about the 8" wide rim being too much to fit on the truck.. if a 10" rim will fit, i'd get it. *ahem* if i were planning on racing and stuff.

I've seen a couple trucks with 16x10's I don't know what offset though. RobG & Dave mcShane both have 10's. The 11.5 tire specifys 8-10" width. Lloyd
