air filter kits after 8 years of development

so,after 8 years of all kinds of air cleaner designs, what seems to be the best one for a truck making 400 to 450 hp?open element, modify the stock box, rams air boxes,or stock box,or something i might have missed.is there going to be a big horse power differance between them to make one design any better than the others?i know, its been hashed over more than anything else but since alot of new members are in here since i joined in 1999 i just wondered what they have found out.

The PSP kit is the only way to go. The original. It looks awesome too. Someone here did some data-logging on it in summer temps and the results real good.

How much for the Girls

I've always likes the JLP and PSP set up (I've had both) but I've also come to realize the Open Filters have no prob putting down the big #'s at the track. At the end of the day and 3 L's later my guess is a heat soaked motor driving in summer heat on the street would def benefit with a true cool air induction set up (pulling air from the fender, engine compartment, and 2 hoses force feeding from the front facier). But at the track with a proper cool down I dont think there would be a noticable ET diff with either.....
But then again I'm not a CAI expert, I only pretend to be

Another PSP Set Up I used with a diff Combo

Rob, is the current KB/JLP air intake set up the only one available for the 2.6 liter KB?

Second question - I am thinking about getting back into the senseless pursuit of HP with my '99 - stock internals. I went really conservative with only 13 lbs boost, predator tune blah blah blah (nothing like my '03). If I go the 2.6 KB route, no headers or hi flow cats what boost level would you recommend? I will keep the tune conservative with a healthy 11/1 air fuel, stock shift points and marginal timing increase.

This is all for the road, no racing at this point. In a couple of years, ya the L comes off the road and I start building what I really want, but for the time being, just looking for a little more on the street.

Thanks

D-day
