Post Damn bassani kit gets me mad.

Well with just under 3000 miles on my bassani kit, my left cat is going bad already. It really starting to annoy the hel out of me. Has anybody just pulled the cats off and run with out them on the truck yet. I thought I heard of a few. Thats my plan for the truck now. First thing is going to call up bassani and get a new set of cats for the truck.

SAL: is there a way to program my chip so the serveice enigine soon light doesn't come on with out the cats on there? By the way, got the new trans and the truck runnig great now. my only problem is traction now.

RT,

I'm pretty sure the check engine light won't come on if you remove the cats. Didn't on any of my other cars. Only if you don't use the O2 sensors.

BTW, I thought I read you got an '01? Did you?

Joe, I can reburn your chip so the light doesn't come on with no cats. I took my Bassani cats off recently and replaced them 12" long 2.5 inch Dynomax Race Magnum Bullet mufflers. The truck sounds the best it's ever sounded. Nice and quiet for idle and cruise, and sounds mean at WOT. Ask Spiro, he road in it this weekend. Glad to hear the trans is good agian.

KILLA',

What Sal did was replace the 2 BASSANI CATS with 2 DYNOMAX mufflers. They are not long, and feature 2.5 in/out, and are only 4" in circumfrence. Here's a PIC of them

They will work WITH the BASSANI mufflers..and sounds simply AWESOME!! Sal's truck now has a nice deep sound to it..but whey you get on it, it really sounds GREAT
I'm doing it...LOL For only 32 bucka piece, it worth it. Call Summit for them.

RTkilla, Don't forget you will need to do an emissions test soon. They do a visual check for cats, why not just hollow them out so you can still pass? Lloyd

What's up with the Bassani Cat back kit? I thought it was the *****? How is it killing the factory cats?

Question

Just thinking...What would happen using these "bullet" items with straight pipes? If not straight pipes...what muffler would you use? Magnaflows?
