Don't forget the jack and jack handle. Lose the stock pulley with cage is good for about 12lbs.

Probably a stupid question, but:

Wouldn't it be much more beneficial to try to find weight up front to lose, rather than weight in the rear that might actually help traction?

Oh, man, here it comes...

I plan on mixing in a salad and a Slim Fast. Should reduce driver weight by 25lbs.

Seriously, what if that carbon fiber hood guy made a Pro Sport style bed cover???

As a consumer, I would be real interested in a packaged battery relocation kit that would put it under the truck out of the way. I thought someone was working on this.

How about some strategically placed helium bladders...just kidding again.

Need,
I emailed the guy with the carbon hoods asking if he would do a bed cover. No response yet. I want one. I think JL has a battery relocate kit.

Looks like I have to get my truck on a diet. The only time I was at the track my truck weighed 4960 lbs! I guess the sound proofing material does make a difference.

My weight 200lbs, my womens weight 100lbs. Now the only problem is getting her to drive the L.

Thumbs up

How much does the front sway bar weigh? It could be removed for drag racing.

JAZ seats with upholstery and mounts probably weigh 25 lbs per pair.

A set of Centerline or Weld wheels with skinny' up front would save another 60 lbs. over stock wheels and F1's.

It doesn't appear too difficult to remove 200 lbs. from the front of the truck for racing.

Speed cost $$. How fast do you want to go.

.10 for every 100 lbs. On the Lightning, that may be conservative, if the weight comes off the front.

I have always been a believer of diets on race cars. It is easier on the drivetrain when you reduce weight also. The more Hp you build, the more parts tend to break.

Not to be a smart a$$ but its not the weight of the truck it's Mass that affects reduction of et's..

Question

If this is true then the only way to change it is to affect the gravity pulling on the truck. So for our purposes Weight = Mass

Or the Star Wars definition "Weight is the force on an object due to gravity; mass is the amount of substance in the object."
http://www.theforce.net/swtc/units.html#mass

Another explanation here http://www.glenbrook.k12.il.us/gbssc...aws/u2l1b.html

Essentially mass can be measured or indicated easily on the surface of this planet by its weight.

I agree on the every 100 lbs += .1 My race car can prove that, but weight on the rear= traction. It may help you, it may hurt you.
