Post 90mm mass air on a stock 200 with no chip?

If I drive my 2000 L with the 90mm mass air installed but my chip removed what am I going to do to the truck? I am not talking WOT but just a quick drive out of the garage to wash it and back in aftwards? Or lets say maybe a short cruise around town?

Thanks

John

John893:
I also have the 90mm mass air, and I had to send my chip to JDM to get reburned. I asked Jim if I would hurt anything if I was to drive my truck with the 90 and no chip for about a week. Jim told me I would be ok but not to work the truck to hard. So a little cruising should be ok just don't race the truck or anything like that.

Same here. And was told by Rob or Jim that as long as I didn't "get in it" it should be ok. I drove it for over a week and it ran beautifully. Didn't even ping and made 343 RWHP to boot.

I talked to Jim yesterday and he told me NOT to run it at all without a chip. I did a plug reading and it was on the lean side, but not snow white on the insulator. The ground strap and center tip looked great. So there you go, I have no idea what to tell you......I guess it depends on your area's gasoline. Mine is great.

Thanks for the replies guys. I just had to wash the truck! So all I did was roll it out of the garage and then started it up let it idle for a minute and pulled it back in.

OOPS, I'm busted, what can I say??? That d*mn blower whine made me do it. It really did make 343 hp like that though. Seriously, you probably shouldn't do it (extended driving or WOT's) because it's not worth the risk, but mine didn't ping at all and felt just like the new '01 I test drove in responsiveness and the way the power came on strong, but smooth. So, I just HAD to know what it was putting down.

But I've got my "stuff" back on and there's no comparison. I can light em up with ease at 30 mph.
