You know, do you beleave everything that you read?
For the most part all 3 year models are the same.
I don't think the suspension was even addressed in 01. There was a cosmetic wheel change that created a heaver wheel by about 12% which introduced new Bilsteins to dampen the compression/rebound ratios.
I wouldn't use 01 shocks with the 99 - 00 wheels, but you would probably never notice the 01 shocks on the street.

The Rousch Kit will run you $1500.00 +/- plus install. Check with Roush direct or find a local Ford dealer that is Rousch autorized. I am waiting for the Hotchkis kit myself.

I just about ordered the Roush kit from my local Ford dealer, who is a dealer. They quoted me only about $800 for the parts, which included springs, shocks and shackles. I am wondering if they misquoted compared to the earlier post of $1,500. The labor estimate, though, was $800. So the total job does run about $1,600.00
My concern, though, is that someone on the NLOC board said that the Roush kit will half the payload capacity, which bugs me. 800 lbs. payload is not much to begin with, a reduction to 400 lbs. would make the back worthless. I am trying to confirm this fact with Roush directly, but if anyone knows this as fact or fiction please reply.

What are the spring rates?
Are the springs linear or progressive rate?
Are they custom making springs or are they OEM'd (i.e. Eibach)
Is the rear only a new leaf, no new shackles/hangers?
What is the exact drop? (I've read 1/2 and 2/3).
And have you talked to them about their sway-bars? I'm interested in their affects on handling at the limit? I mean are they really a handling mod or just to take out some of the sloppiness for street driving. I ask because I already get an awful lot of
loading of the outside front tire during road course events. I would like to minimize lean, but dont think i want any more lateral weight transfer from big ol' sway bars.

Just installed my Belteich 2 inch drop shackles. It cost me about $60 and 20 minutes. Makes the truck look awsome. I am now level all the way around. Pics in Zing tommorow when it is day light

DB:
Yes, it was a quality issue.
1. Aim doesn't install the bushings, you have to do it yourself.
2. They come with a zerk fittings that will probably never be used anyway.
3. The finish was not as good as the Belltech.
4. The Belltech one's felt heavier and stronger.
I'm sure the AIM shackles will work just as well as the BellTech one's.
If you were to line them up side by side, you'd pick the BellTechs too.
But not that big of an issue, unless you're me...

Dreaming,
Yes big handling improvements. No rear shacklee needed with the springs. Too much lateral movement under the kind of conditions you are talking about. The front sway bay is hollow. That is a big plus. Much less weight and much more responsive. The rear sway is also stiffer. No sure about the spring rates. I plan to call them today for updates. Will post my findings.

There's no error, but what they're saying is that they're dropped compared to regular F-150's. They talk about the differences between the 99-00 and the 01, then they just go right into the differences with F-150's without skipping a beat. It's confusing, but I think that's what happened...
