How to check for piston preasure with diablo tuner?

How to check for piston preasure with diablo tuner?

Im running stock 02 L. Does anyone know how to use the diablo tuner diagnosis program to check cylinder preasure? and what should the preasure be? PLEASE HELP!

Don't think any scanner can read cylinder pressure simply because there is no sensor on the engine to give the ECM that type of info.

As noted above: there is no "device" on these engines to read cylinder pressure.

You will need a cylinder compression/leakdown tester, but you already knew that......???

Oh okay. Im new to the 5.4 block. Sorry guys 5.0 olds are my thing. Was just wondering if these (newer) blocks had some sort of compression sensor.

Are you insinuating that a 5.0 has a sensor for cylinder pressures ?

what i meant was that (ofcourse i know 5.0 does not have sensor) i was just asking maybe the 5.4 did? Sorry for the confusion guys.

They know that... this is how they are! it all has to be manually tested. peak pressure isnt really what you are looking for, consistency is what you want.

If you have access to a Ford IDS (scan tool), you can do a relative compression test with it. It doesnt give you pressures but a scale to show consistency in all cylinders. It measures rpm differences with the ckp sensor.

Yea def. the easiest and least intrusive way. The only problem is that if all the cylinders are equally worn, and they are all low then the IDS cannot pick this up. You should see from 185 -205ish for the cranking rpm while the test is done on a V8.
