Post Dynomax Race Magnums

The herd has gone with the Magnaflows, Ravens and Flowmasters. Has anyone tried the Race Magnums?

Thumbs up

I have the race magnum on my 01. I wasn't crazy about it at first,(had Borla on my 94 L and loved them, but they don't make a two in two out with 2-1/2" pipe). Dynomax is a straight through design with some kindof ceramic stranded packing, which I think is breaking up a little. Don't let this scare you it is sounding better and better the more I drive it. It is louder than the magnaflow, and has no resonance noise. Overall I like it!

NFS, I have them on my truck, but I used them to replace the cats. I made a pretty detailed post about them over on the "JDM" site. Here is the link:

Question

Sal

I'm confused! If you turn off o2 sensing, aren't you not allowing the computer to read that data to make engine decisions dynamically (sp?) What is o2 sensing used for on a chipped computer?

We are not turning off the reading of the O2s. There are 4 O2s, 2 "upstream" and 2 "downstream". The upstream O2s are used by the PCM. The downstream O2s are just used by the OBD II portion to see a difference before and after the cats. When you remove the cats, we just shut off the OBD II cat test, so it doesn't look for a difference anymore.

Race Magnums are now on and I must say they are great. If you want to listen to classical music at 80mph they are not for you. At idle they are deep and throaty.
