Post 2000 vs 2001 interesting comparison

Well,I love the 2001s and would trade my 2000 for one if the price was right but I have noticed some very strange things.Nevermind the fact that the 2001 is faster stock.Im looking at Mods compared betweeen the two years.I also know that the chip tuners are having a hard time with the new computers and am sure they will work things out as they have always dome possibly making this statement irrelivent but.........
I have noticed that for what ever reason,The 2001s are NOT respoding the same as the 2000s.the 99/2000s seem quite a bit faster mod for mod. This is very strange and is probally due to programming but isnt it great for us Ol timers There are MANY 12 second 99/2000s and not many 2001 with same mods.

Just to think,We thought they were going to be faster............

Well at least we can enjoy it wile it last

I know what you're sayin. I'd also be willing to trade my '01 for a '99 or '00 if the price was right. I just wanna go faster and I don't think these '01's are gonna do it.

HEHE
Don't speak to soon, Jim is figuring out the 2001 program. I bet by friday he will have it totally figured out. HEHE

I ran JDM's new street program today, and must say I am very happy. I ran a personal best of 13.248 @ 104.61 I ran 5 other runs all under 13.315. Including a 13.258 13.262, and a 13.264.

Ray I missed you tonight, I did these runs with street tires, and 3/4 tank of gas, and the track had no traction tonight. Everyone was complaining about the poor traction. I even kickes a ZR1's but tonight, it doesn't get any better than that.

Also I was the fastest L there tonight.

Cool

I don't know how different the tuning is from the '99 & '00 to the '01, but I did read that the '01's have been leaned out more from the factory. This would account for some of the power gain for the '01, and it would also explain why the '01's aren't gaining as much power from aftermarket tuning. If the factory tuning for the '01 is pretty different, just give the tuners time to play with it. I can say that it's a night and day difference w/ my Superchips tuning!
I'll be running the truck Friday, so we'll see what she's good for. Maybe I'll get lucky, and the throttle body will make it in in time.

Just look at the pipes on a stock 99/00 verses a 01. You can be sure that the factory leaned out the truck! It's only a matter of time before the tuners will figure it out. The only problem is, that I will be ready to trade again, can we say 3 valve head, I knew you could.

Don't forget most 01's are not completely broken in yet which from what I have been told accounts for a little

Trevor D,

Maybe I'll see you down at Ennis this Friday. I'm going to try and get down there, and take my Saleen for its virgin trip down the strip.

Remember, the 01' really haven't even been on the streets that long. I've had mine since April 27th, and I just broke the 400 mile mark. And this is my daily driver. Just think of those who drive it occasionally, less mileage in more time = not quickly broken in engine.

I'm afraid to even get on the engine and see what it can really do til I at least hit 1000 miles. Sure I mashed the peddle down, but not that much and for not that long.

The one I came across was Superchipped, and the closest race was a thriller.

He finally walked away at 120 or so, you can count the gears, since I took off my muffler. 1st and 2nd, he pulled enough to see his dash gauge lights, then in third I gained even and pulled his parking lights to my front door, then he fought his way back to pass, it was classic.

I'll be nice and not talk about the races we went from a roll. All were directed by one of my friends if you get what I mean...

I cant wait until we line up at the strip...
